National Special Needs Law Month 2023

October National Special Needs Law Month logo

October is here as is National Special Needs Law Month.  Special needs law involves legal support that may be necessary for individuals with physical or mental disabilities.  Special Needs Law Month is a time to educate people about the legal needs of individuals with disabilities and their families.  Our firm provides the guidance necessary to help families become aware of the resources available in special needs law planning.  According to federal and state laws, a person who is less than 65 years old can create a Special Needs Trust to preserve his or her life savings.  The disabled individual can place any amount of assets into the trust as long as it is for their sole benefit.  A Special Needs Trust and a Supplemental Special Needs Trust are important and valuable documents.  A Supplemental Special Needs Trust is a trust for where a parent wants to deposit his or her own assets into a trust for a disabled person.  There are no restrictions on the age of the disabled person for this type of trust.  Learn more about our special needs law services.
